During the ride to Montauk on May 21 my rear derailleur suddenly snapped and stopped the wheel cold. I got a ride with a policeman to the nearest ride checkpoint and a friendly local woman at the stop happened to notice the mishap and offered to take me and the crippled bike to Amagansett Beach & Bicycle just a mile and a half from where I broke down. I accepted without pause and upon arrival the owner of the shop walked out, noticed the problem, and called his chief mechanic to take a look. Without hesitation they replaced the derailleur, re-trued the wheels, and got me back out on the ride in less than half an hour.
The service was exceptional and the shop owners were very relaxed and friendly, keeping me buoyed with some humor while I waited for the repairs. I would most certainly come back to this shop again, even just to say "hi" and thanks for saving the day and making me feel better. This shop is top notch.
This is by far the best bike shop in the area. Outstanding service, friendly people, and high-quality road bikes for rent. I have been coming here for years and each year it gets better. Highly recommended.

They have an abundant selection and the bikes are in fantastic condition. The owners were professional, friendly, and patient as we selected the best bike for our travels.
